Cachepot created and painted by hand with Palio di Siena decoration. The oldest document about the Palio and the oldest testimonies of the Contrade date back to the thirteenth century: the word "contrada" originally meant "inhabited street", then "neighborhood" and finally "association of the inhabitants of a district".
The Palio di Siena is run twice a year (July 2nd and August 16th) and these are the 17 districts:
Eagle, Caterpillar, Snail, Owl, Dragon, Giraffe, Porcupine, Leocorn, Wolf, Mutton, Nicchio, Goose, Wave, Panther, Selva, Tartuca, Tower.
The balzana (ancient Roman insigna in black and white) remains the coat of arms of Siena.
The balzana is in fact omnipresent in the illustrious of the city and is a symbol of harmony between the districts, which despite their diversity of symbols and colors, are united in it.
Our company is the only one in Deruta to be authorized by the deals Consortium for the Protection of the Palio di Siena to reproduce the decorations of the Contrade.
Every single object is hand-painted by our artists exclusively to order in our workshop in Deruta, Italy.
All our products are made with enamels and apiombic colors.
