Say 'I love you' with flowers! The gorgeous blue, green, red and purple hand made flower mug in the photos is the one you will receive. It is slightly paler than it looks - I photographed it on a dull day.

The flower is an abstract iris. There is a toadstool on the handle. This mug is quite heavy and more decorative than functional. I would buy it as a decorative sculptural gift, not to use every day as a mug. It will soon break if you use it every day. I was inspired by Monet's iris's in his garden painting and one of the blue glazes is called Monet's Pond!

I make one of a kind, hand sculpted pottery in very small amounts in my back garden studio, which is tiny. I have a small 13amp plug in kiln, a potter's wheel and one table.
I made this flower mug over several days, first slip casting the initial deals shape of the mug, then fettling it, then I sculpted the vine leaves and iris and added the many petals, one by one to the mug. I left it to dry for a few days, then bisque fired it for 24 hours. After cooling, I hand painted it with a variety of summer blue, leaf green, red, pink and purple glazes, then put it back into the kiln for a second 24 hour firing.
It is more expensive than usual because flowers take a long time to make.
I don't even recommend that you use it as an every day mug, due to the delicate nature of the petals and the weight of the mug.

I'd use it as a table centrepiece or piece of interesting sculpture to have around the house to remind you of the garden.

The 9th wedding anniversary is commemorated with pottery, so this would make a lovely gift for your loved one if you want to buy a present for a gardener.

It will arrive boxed and packed using ethical, recycled materials or coloured tissue.
