19th century stone mason tool known as a Chemin de Fer in French used to dress, smooth and age stone and create drainage channels.
There is something amazing about old tools, the hand made construction, the years of handling and use that make them so evocative, what were these used on? a humble farmhouse or a lavish French chateau

These two are part of a large collection of tools we were lucky to deals come across, one persons lifetime collection and they have been treated with a varnish to protect them. Both have some insect damage, the largest of the two has many woodworm holes but it is treated and long gone. Both are still sturdy enough to be used for their original purpose as well as for a collection
