❁ⵈWeave Styleⵈ❁
This is a saganishiki obi which uses a combination of Japanese washi paper coated with deals gold or silver foil and silk threads to weave the brocade bit by bit. It is a painstakingly slow process that creates a gorgeous and very shiny design that is lightweight and easier to handle.

Lovely purple based obi with gold, red, blue, and green details! There are large gold diamonds with mukaezuru which translates to cranes facing each other and a large family crest style Paulownia or Empress tree flowers. The background has clouds of mist with cherry blossoms, chrysanthemums, wisteria, peonies, and clouds of hanabishi kikkour or flowers with tortoise shell hexagons. Very elegant obi with amazing craftsmanship.
Will look great with formal Kimonos such as Furisode, Tomesode, Houmongi or as décor!
Lovely for repurposing as a table runner, wall tapestry, or as a fabric to make other lovely items such as a table mat, bag, or upholstery!

**What is 六通 Rokutsuu Style?
The pattern is on 60% of one side of the Obi in 2 parts. It goes patterned to non-patterned and then patterned again. Over 2m or (approx. 2 yards) of the obi has uninterrupted pattern to use for display or as fabric! The second patterned area is about 50 cm (19”). The other side of the obi is a solid color silk with no pattern.
Obis are made this way to show the pattern only where it can be seen when worn around a kimono. With obis being around 4 meters, this is a practical design for a kimono wearer as this makes the obi much more light weight and easier to manipulate and tie around your waist.

This is a vintage kimono and will not come in perfect condition, please keep this in mind before you decide to purchase! I try to be thorough in my inspection of all my items but sometimes I may miss the smaller or fainter signs of wear here and there.
The colors/shade of items may look slightly different from the actual product due to lighting/ digital photography or the difference in computer monitors. However, I try very hard to get the most accurate looking photos!
