This antique engraving in color print depicts three English Setters looking at two ducks. Wood Framed Glass Covered. Aug 3, 1816 By R Pollard Engraver & Print seller, Holloway Near London is engraved at the bottom of the print. Robert Pollard (1755–1838) was an English engraver and painter. For a time he practiced as a landscape and marine painter, producing such works as "The Departure". In 1781 he moved to London, worked as an engraver for the print seller John Harris. There, Pollard produced a large number of plates, executed in his own mixed style, composed of line engraving, etching, and aquatint. In Holloway Place he ran a print selling business, for which his son James supplied many of the designs deals. Approximate size: Length 16" x Width 13 1/2" Approximate weight: 2 lb 5.2 oz Excellent condition, except for a small chip on the wood frame as shown in the last picture. Offers are welcomed.
