Complete kit contains nearly everything you need to create the lariat-style Kumihimo Zipped Lentil necklace in Soft Denim colors, as shown. This piece was featured as Zippered Lentil Lariat in Bead & Button magazine's special issue, Kumihimo Fiber and Bead Jewelry, May 2016.
With this kit, you will create a long, lariat-style Kumihimo necklace, and learn how to embellish braids with two-hole beads, incorporating easy bead weaving and fringe.
Techniques used:
- 8 warp cord Kongoh Gumi (round braid), with beads, counted pattern. Prior experience with Kumihimo braiding with deals beads is essential.
- Easy bead weaving: experience helpful but not required.
Kit includes:
- Complete 6 page tutorial with bead loading pattern, color placement, and finishing instructions, including step by step photos of embellishment techniques.
- All required beads - size 8/0 and 11/0 premium Japanese seed beads, 6mm lentils, ring beads, and 3mm rounds (with extra seed beads to make a longer necklace if you wish)
- Spool of nylon bead cord (enough for many projects)
- Spool of Nymo beading thread (enough for many projects)
- Fireline precut for project
- Big eye needle
- Medium acrylic magnetic clasp
You will need:
- Kumihimo disk and 8 bobbins or Marudai with 8 weighted tama
- Counterweight
- Scissors
- Size 11 or 12 Beading Needle
- Fray Check or Gum Arabic, optional
- Adhesive for finishing (5 minute 2-part epoxy or E-6000)

Finished necklace length with tassels is approximately 28" (71cm). Instructions include how to increase or decrease the length. You will receive enough beads to add at least an inch to the length.
