Batik Sogan Buketan has brown color. It has Phoenix and bouquet as motifs. This buketan motif batik developed a lot in the 19th century. The bouquet symbolizing with happines, joy, beauty, and purity. Phoenix symbolizing elegance. It filled with sogan color. Still in good condition.

Used to be worn as daily clothing as hip wrapper, tight around as sarong/bottom for Indonesian men/women especially in Java island, before the more practical western style of pants and skirts became daily clothing.

A handdrawn batik is produced through labourious work, started deals from hand sketching, applying wax painting on each dots and strokes to resist coloring, and accordingly successive coloring processes. Each piece can take up from 1-4 months of work depending on the complexity and sophistication of the motif.
