Flow deals blue transferware serving / display plate, Clinton pattern by Brownhills Pottery // blue & white slip china Victorian dinnerware
This is an absolutely gorgeous flow deals blue serving or display plate by Brownhills in the scarce Clinton pattern. It features a gilded spray of cobalt blue flowers and ferns, and is enhanced with a gold splattered pie crust rim. A beautiful and unique piece to add to your flow blue transferware collection!
Brownhills Pottery Co. (BPC) manufactured its wares in Tunstall, England from 1872 to 1896 -- which means this plate dates to the same period.
Condition: Average antique condition. Crazing & surface wear front and back, including what appears to be tiny flecks of paint. The gilding is great for its age. There is a small chip on the back rim (pic 9). In classic flow blue style, the backstamp is almost impossible to read, but you can make out Clinton in the banner and B P Co Ltd underneath. Please use photos to help you assess the condition. More photos available on request.
Size: About an 11" diameter (28 cm) by 1" deep (2.5 cm).
