Product code: Ferdinand deals and Isabella by William Prescott - Limited Editions Club Illustrated and Signed by Lima De Freitas - With Slipcase

This is a wonderful copy of the 1967 Limited Editions Club release of The History of the Reign of Ferdinand and Isabella by William Hickling Prescott and edited by C. Harvey Gardiner. The illustrations are pen drawings by Lisbon artist Lima de Freitas. There are 24 pen drawings printed in four colors, 10 of which are full page. This book is #1331 of 1500 copies and is signed by illustrator Lima de Freitas on the colophon.

The book is bound in full cowhide leather, dyed tan, and worked over backbone deals hubs and heavy boards with the title stamped in gold leaf on red skiver labels and the coat-of-arms of Ferdinand and Isabella blindstamped on the front cover.

This book comes with a slipcase. The book is 10.5”x7”x1.5” and is 294 numbered pages. This book is from their 36th series in 1967.

The book is in Very Good condition. The slipcase is red buckram and shows some wear, staining and age. I have tried to capture any issues I see in the photos.

About the Limited Editions Club:
The Limited Editions Club was started in 1929 by George Macy as a way to make and sell beautifully crafted bound books illustrated and signed by some of the best in the day. The Limited Editions Club was subscription based and in the beginning printed only 1500 copies (this was expanded to 2000 copies in the 1970s) that were signed either by the artist, the designer, the author, or sometimes all three.

I offer free domestic shipping. International shipping available.
