For sale is a vintage pressed steel 6-lever padlock made for the Norfolk & Western (N&W) Railway by Fraim. In excellent mechanical condition with a shackle that snaps open easily. The top of the shackle is stamped "N&W" and "116." Comes with 2 operable keys. Coin is for size comparison purposes only. Happy to combine shipping.
Founded in 1896, the Norfolk and Western Railway was a US class I railroad. In 1980, the N&W merged deals its operations with Southern Railway to create the Norfolk Southern Corporation holding company. The N&W and the Southern Railway continued as separate railroads operating under a single holding company. In 1982, the Southern Railway was renamed “Norfolk Southern Railway” and control of the N&W was transferred to the newly renamed company.
