A Really Lovely Very Large Flapjack Vintage Compact by Dorset Fifth Avenue Circa 1930's. It's Just Gorgeous and in Unused Condition.

This Compact is a Rare and Very Hard To deals Find example of a Dorset Fifth Avenue Compact before the company merged with Rex Fifth Avenue in the early 1950's.

Given the large size of this compact, I do feel it is from the 30's, or at the latest, the early 1940's.
This Compact is Exceptionally Lovely with it's Inlaid Gilt Brass Figure of a Beautiful Young Lady dressed in a Gorgeous Ball Gown, holding a Fan, with Lovely Bouquets of Flowers on either side of her.

The Back of the Compact is Beautifully Engine Turned.
Inside you will find the Original Unused Sifter and Dorset Fifth Avenue Signed Powder Puff. My last photo shows that the powder puff although Unused has begun to separate from it's backing due to age. A couple of small drops of glue will fix this if it bothers you. I will leave that to it's new owner.

The rest of the Compact is in Excellent Condition The Latch Closure works perfectly.
