The wood used for this ring bearer pillow is pine that we gather ourselves from local ranches in our area using horses.
Our work not only has a rustic, country deals theme, it has a great country story behind it too!

Height - 1 1/4 inch
Width - approx. 3 1/4 at the point where the bird tracks are drawn and 4 inches at it's longest point.
Compartment diameter - 1 3/8 inches with a depth of 7/8 inch
The compartments have felt lining in the bottom.


Natural Colorings and Markings in the Wood.

Branches from dead Lodgepole Pine trees are used to make this pillow. Pine beetle activity has provided the beautiful markings and blue colorings you can see on the surface of the wood.
By carefully removing the bark by hand, we are able to preserve as much of these colorings and markings as possible, making each ring bearer pillow unique.

Several layers of water based varnish allow the natural colors to last a lifetime.

Original Artwork.

We use graphite pencil to draw the artwork directly onto the lid. This is then sealed before varnish is applied. The bird tracks on this ring bearer pillow are original artwork. All our pillows and boxes are signed and have a serial number on the base.

While gathering our wood, we regularly see a variety of animals and birds. To be able to see an animal and then draw it onto a piece of wood they have been near is a privilege, the story behind our work.


There is something about the feel of wood that people love. When a person picks up one of these ring bearer pillows, they always comment on the feel; how the texture of the wood can still be felt, how smooth, strong and solid it feels, how comforting.Once you pick one up, you'll find it hard to put down!

Gathering Wood With Our Horses.

The pine for this ring bearer pillow has come from a local ranch here in Montana. Many of the trees are inaccessible to vehicles, so we use horsepower!
Horses in harness pull out the sections of tree trunk used for our larger furniture. The smaller pieces, including the branch for this ring bearer pillow, are loaded into pack panniers on our horses and brought out of the mountains.
Having our own selection of wood allows us to select the colors and markings to make each piece unique.
