This bourbon barrel top has been turned into a beautiful Sexton Single Malt wall hanging art piece. I start with a real barrel top then I deals clean and sand it. Once I have a nice smooth yet rustic top I dye it black. Using dye keeps the wood grain visible and looks more natural than painting. Painting is much faster but I would rather have a nicer looking product. Then I add the engraved logo. Once I'm happy with the way the top looks I coat the top with 3 coats of semi gloss lacquer. I take a lot of pride in how my tops look and feel. I spend more time and effort than most of my competition on making sure they are the best they can be. I think of them as rustic yet refined.
These tops are about 22 inches in diameter. I add a piece of plywood to the back of the top to hold it together. The backs are painted black so they blend in and aren't as noticable. I also add felt pads to make sure they don't harm anything they sit on.
The first photo shows top as a wall hanger. If you would like a tray I will add leather handles. If you would like a lazy susan I'll add the mechanism and black plywood base. For the wall hanger it will come with a french cleat so it's ready to hang right away. I include all the needed hardware for normal installation. The last 2 photos show the bottom of the tray and lazy susan.
If you would like something custom engraved into one of my tops please message me.
Not all tops are the same. Some tops are darker or lighter than the one in the photos.
There may be cracks between the boards and they may not be perfectly flat. This happens when the tops dries after years of being soaked with bourbon.
Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska may cost extra.
