This wood fired tea pot is definitely vintage. It was fired several years ago in a wood kiln somewhere along my wood firing journey... deals But before it was fired, it was hand thrown with a highfire stoneware (ceramic) on a potter's wheel in a traditional fashion by Lynn Isaacson of New Prospect Pottery. A thrown spout and lid along with a hand-pulled handle were then attached. It was glazed only on the inside before being fired. The stunning coloration on the outside comes from the clay, glaze, fire, ash and atmosphere developed during the multi-day firing cycle and the cool down period. It is truly unique and one-of-a-kind.
The tea pot measures approximately 5 1/2” tall by 8” from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle.
All work from New Prospect Pottery is food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
