A. Michelsen Company made this beautiful commemorative spoon in 1968. This enamel and sterling spoon with gold wash was made to commemorate the Royal wedding of Denmark's Princess Benedikte to Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. What a great souvenir! This Danish Silverware is made of sterling silver with a gold wash. White and green enamel with oak and laurel leaves frame the joint monogram of Princess Benedikte and Prince Richard. Above their monogram is a heart and a crown. Back of spoon is stamped with ej for Egil Jensen who designed the spoon and A Michelsen Sterling Danmark as well as the date of the wedding, 3 Februar 1968. Other than some minor scuffs and scratches this spoon is in great condition. No damage to the enamel or gilt finish. 6 1/2" long and 1 3/8" wide at widest point of spoon. I also have a similar spoon commemorating the wedding of Queen Margrethe's, Princess Benedikte's sister the previous year.
