This is a charming c. 1840 child's handmade scrap book with newspaper lithographs attached to linen pages. The cover was taken from an old ledger and there is one entry at the top dated 1836. The pages are all linen with many pieced. Lithographs include "John A. Kyle" a renowned flutist in the early 19th century; "The Wonderful Dutton Children" (midget sisters); some military including "Bringing Mexicans To The Point"; a lithograph of Dunnell Manufacturing Co.'s building in Pawtucket RI, and Girard College in Phila.; and a lithograph of "Santa Claus" in front of chimney with bag of toys deals. There are 18 pages with some having lithos on both sides. Most pages have some foxing, and the linen has frayed on the edges. It measures 7 1/2" by 6".
