National Geographic Revolutionary War Music LP, Superb! 1976 Bicentennial Vintage Vinyl Record Album Songs of Rebels & Redcoats. Luxury Book. US History Gift!
This gorgeous patriotic National Geographic luxury album was released for the American Bicentennial in 1976. That was a lifetime ago! But the music still shines. Lots of history buffs fell in love with this album back then, and these songs and ballads can still guide you back to the heroic war that saw the birth of our country.
The roster of musicians features Jay Ungar, also known for the music for Ken Burns' "The Civil War." You hear 1700s instruments including pipes, drums and glockenspiel. The songs include "One Morning in May" -- familiar to James Taylor deals fans -- as well as "The Yankee Privateer," the British folk ballad "Barbara Allen"; and "The Ballad of Trenton." See complete track list below.
This luxury gatefold album opens out into a full-color 10-page booklet with paintings and background information for the songs. The dust sleeve is heavy cardboard and bears the printed lyrics to all the songs. The booklet is gorgeous with top-quality art. The painter John Trumbull shows us Baron von Steuben drilling the American soldiers. And there are several beautiful paintings by the great American illustrator Howard Pyle. One Pyle illustration shows the American troops under the command of Alexander Hamilton. A Hamilton fan would love it!
This copy of the album is in superb condition. The booklet, the record jacket, the record itself -- everything is pretty much perfect. It was all clearly cared for and should be always.
Anyone who loves American history would be fascinated by this music. It puts you back in time better than any movie can.
Shipping is free in the U.S. We ship our albums shrink-wrapped to protect and preserve them.
