Josephine Kind Northwest Artist - Colorful Flower Basket Oil deals Painting - 1960's Era - Seattle Artist - Daisies - Roses - Scenic Blue Sky

A nice vintage oil painting done by Seattle artist Josephine Kind. Josephine worked as a nurse and traveled a lot during WWII before settling in Seattle and becoming a local fixture in the art community.

She was known locally in Seattle as the bird lady of Magnolia because she frequently painted birds. Sold her paintings at the Pike Place Market for many years and won numerous awards at local art shows. She passed away in 1990.

This oil painting on board is framed in a gold frame and has a green velvet matt.

The subject matter is a large colorful basket full of pink, white, yellow and red flowers that include daisies and roses.

The background appears to be a large rolling hills covered with long grass along with a blue sky and thin white clouds seen above.

The gold frame measures 10.5" tall by 12.25" wide. The viewable painting is 5.5" tall by 7" wide.

The framed board this is painted on measures 9" by 11".

The back retains the original paper backing and the title "Basket of Flowers - Oil - Jo Kind.

The attached exhibit label reads Jo Kind - her deals address in Seattle - Basket Of Flowers - $30 - Oil - and her phone number.

The condition is nice and original on this colorful northwest oil painting.
