This stunning mosaic crucifix presents multiple images of an early icon of the Crucifixion. The Blessed Mother and St. John the Beloved appear at the foot of the cross, witnesses to the Crucifixion. "We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world."
The cross measures 14.25" by 8.25" by 1" and is designed as a wall cross. The metal cross base is embellished with deep blue, green and gold glittery glass and mixed media treasures.
The cross is created by Julie Wishmeyer, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Art Institute of Chicago. "I am fascinated with minute detail, daring expression and bold design. My functional art is an assemblage of treasures that deals truly transform the objects they adorn into something extraordinary."
