Charming, Original Antique Prints, 2 Victorian deals Parisian Fashion Lithographs by Heloise Leloir, 2 Charming Antique Original Prints, 1865

Heloise Leloir (1815-1874) was one of the great fashion print artists of the 19th Century. Leloir is listed as a miniaturist and watercolorist, but is best known for her works in the fashion industry in Paris as an deals artist executing beautiful watercolors of the latest Paris gowns to be engraved and published in magazines with worldwide circulation.

She was the daughter of painter Alexandre Colin, married the artist Jean-Baptiste Auguste Leloir and was the mother of Maurice Leloir, an artist who later became a film producer in Hollywood.

These two original prints are from a hand colored engraving taken from her original paintings of Parisian fashions, c. 1865.

These vintage prints are as relevant as any of today's fashion magazines. The same principles are applied and I'm sure the magazines these were originally printed in were sold out as quickly as any Cosmos or Chatelaine magazine today.

And besides the historical value they are so elegantly posed and beautifully colored. Both prints are in perfect condition.
