Although inspired by our historical and mythological tradition (the concept of the zodiac originated in Babylonian astrology, and was later influenced by Hellenistic culture), Erotiscope is a watercolour series exploring feminine beauty and sensuality.
Unlinke any other horoscope illustrations, all references to animals and constellations have been eliminated. Erotiscope focuses on women only.
Each month introduces a woman representing a zodiac sign, which can be inferred by her clothes, hairstyle or other props. Erotiscope intends to explore femininity and female seduction potential. Far from being sexual objects, Erotiscope protagonists are independent women, fully aware of their inner beauty and sensual power and not afraid of showing it.
This project has been a real challange to me because it is something completely new and different from my usual work (most of the people who know me or follow me on facebook or instagram were surprised by seeing me experimenting something new and I must say I have had a more than positive feedback from them).
