Item: Decorative plate with portrait of a young lady in white, on a peach-to-gray ombre background. Border is gold and dark red. "Valencia" artist signed. This antique plate is c1909-1918 and marked LRL (Lazeyras, Rosenfeld, and Lehman) Limoges on the back, in gray.
Measurements: 11 1/2" diameter
Condition: Plate is in pristine condition -- no chips, cracks, crazing, scratches, flaking. HOWEVER; the ARTWORK has a place on her shoulder, which appears to be an attempt at a repair. At first glance, I thought the highlighted area on her shoulder was intentional on the artists' part, and the way the light was reflecting. Upon inspection, the spot is certainly not original. When you turn the plate on an angle, the plate finish is glossy, except for this 1" circle, which is matte finish. Within the circle is 1/4" spot that appears to me to have been touched up, with a possible chemical reaction causing the yellow area. While the repair diminishes the original value of the plate (I've seen similar ones sold for almost $500), this plate is still gorgeous, and when hanging on the wall, not near as blatant.
