Well, we love all types of art glass and things that play with light like glass. That often includes gemstones, and Lucite. Or, since we collect vintage trinkets, Thermoset, Celluloid, Resin, Acrylic, whatever. This piece is wonderful; it simply radiates light. We have tried to capture that in the photos. It is well made, in great vintage condition, with excellent weight and feel. The branches (coral?) are punctuated with bubbles of faceted deals crystals. It is a large brooch. About 3". Perfect for cruise wear, sun dresses, and anything playful. We have always felt that the wonderful fashion accessories of yesteryear, like; brooches, sweater clasps, fur clips, hat pins and scarf clasps provide an almost inexhaustible resource of artistic treasure from an amalgam of artistic eras. A celluloid or carved Lucite type belt buckle from the Jazz or Mid-Century Modern Era is hard to argue with. All are available to us, as “Wearable Art”, to make even your most lethargic outfits jump. Don't be bashful. Use vintage artworks to brighten up purse/clutch, hat scarf or even auto visor. This piece is a fine example. It oozes expression.
