Todd Tremeer is a printmaking artist, painter and sometimes vintage toy collector. This small, detailed original art mezzotint is a carefully drawn antique figure from a WW1 era vintage tin litho toy. The actual toy is part of the artist's vintage toy collection. This classic tin toy is a favorite object and has inspired several paintings, artist prints and automata sculptures by Todd Tremeer.
Mezzotint with fine details and texture. Printed with black ink upon delicate beige chine-collé printmaking paper, fused to thicker bright white 'Magnani' printmaking paper during the printmaking process.
All materials used for this print are professional artist quality, acid free and archival. The paper is in excellent condition both front and back. The paper is free of smudges, folds or other damage. Outer edges of the white paper are delicately torn or 'deckled'. This print could be float-framed with the white paper edges exposed. This print can also be traditionally matted and framed.
This mezzotint was scraped and burnished into a copper etching plate. The plate was hand printed by the artist on his etching press in his Bowmanville Ontario art studio. The embossed plate mark around the printed image is proof, this is an original intaglio print.
