Canvas Print of "Respect Existence or Expect Resistance" deals by Oklahoma Cherokee Artist Bryan Waytula
Canvas Print of "Respect Existence or Expect Resistance" by Oklahoma Cherokee Artist Bryan Waytula
This charcoal piece depicts one of my former students, Sierra Revis deals (Yuchi Tribe) wearing my original denim jacket that has the phrase "Respect Existence or Expect Resistance" when you pop up the collar. You also see a AIM heart patch on her arm and the founders of AIM on the back labeled as The Outsiders. This drawing is meant to bring our history to our youth. To pay homage to those all who sacrificed and were a voice for those who couldn't speak for themselves. Drawing awareness for the Gov't not honoring treaties and to give Native American's equal rights. This drawing is meant for them, and to educate our youth so that our ancestors words aren't lost throughout time.
