This is a Chrysoprase sterling silver ring. Today, much of the world's Chrysoprase comes from Western Australia, Germany, Russia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tanzania, India, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Brazil and the states of Arizona, California and Oregon. Chrysoprase is a green colored gemstone variety of chalcedony. While emeralds get their green color from the presence of chromium, the bright, spring green color of Chrysoprase is a result of the presence of nickel. The shank of this ring is a 1/2 round sterling silver band cleanly soldered to the backing plate which is made of 24 gauge sterling. The bezel is a scalloped flat sterling wire. This ring size is a number 8 -1/2. The stone shows off the pattern of the natural milky green polished Cabochon. Great little ring!
