Vintage Set of 4 Tin Nesting Canisters with Glass Windows - Made in Italy. EX-Large Canister Set

I love this set of large tin canisters. I found them in nice vintage condition however I was less than thrilled with the scratched, dirty plastic see-through fronts. Since the front of the red one was missing, I decided to replace the plastic with glass. I think this set looks look GREAT now!

Canisters are as follows:

1.) EX-Large gold, red and yellow tin canister with clear glass front. Marked Made in Italy on the inside base. This canister is marked on the front in Italian: M. Pagani Biscotti. Roma via Veneto 10, 12, Telephono 725-138. This tin deals is in very nice condition with a little wear on the lid. Canister Measures 9" x 9"x 9-5/8".

2). Large red and gold tin canister with clear glass front. Marked Made in Italy on the inside base. The canister is marked in Italian: Mandorlato Panzeri Mario e Fiblio. The tin is in nice condition but the inside base is darkened/worn. (Steel wool should definitely help!) There is a 2" scratch in the paint on the right side but this is minor. Canister measures measures 7-3/4" x 7-3/4" x 9".

3). Medium gold, red, and black tin canister with clear glass front. Marked Made in Italy on the inside base. The canister is marked in Italian: Biscotti Roma. This tin is in very nice condition showing only light wear. Canister measures 7" x 7" x 8-1/8".

4). Small green, gold and red tin canister with clear glass front. Marked Made in Italy on the inside base. Canister is marked in Italian: Fili Pescatori. Fabbricazione e Commerciao Dolci. Firenze. This tin is in very nice condition showing little wear. Canister measures
6-1/8" x 6-1/8" x 7-1/4".


This set is in really good vintage condition -- especially with the new glass fronts. I have never seen one like it before -- so colorful and cheerful. The bottoms could use another cleaning before use but the rest of the tins look great.

Due to the design of the canister windows, there is a very thin opening between the glass and the tin. These could be sealed with hot glue if storing other than pasta. (The original plastic or Plexiglass did the same thing and the pieces were stuck in place with sticky foam which turned golden brown with age.) I'm including the pieces I removed.
