Raku pottery deals ceramic pendant lamp

I made the lampshade of ceramic in a carved texture. I glazed the inside of the lamp with blue with brown smears shiny non-toxic raku glazes. The lampshade is open to the bottom and lights downward. You buy it with a light fixture (for the E27 screw-bulb).

I wired the lamp following the European standard. You can use a two-wire cable and E27 light bulb socket in the USA (light bulb screw E26).

The lamp is handmade and hand-painted. It is a unique piece, signed.

I made this ceramic lamp in the Raku technique (originally used in Japanese pottery). I shaped it with my hands (without using a potter's wheel). After I formed the clay, I left it for a few days to dry. While it was bone dry, I fired it in the gas-fired kiln. I decorated the “bisque” using glazes specially mixed just for this particular item, and I fired it again at a temperature around 1000 degrees Celsius (1832 F).

The Raku firing process results in unique patterns and textures, different every time. Please remember that I made items by hand and fire in the live fire, and there might be variations in form and deals glaze.
