Calcite is naturally colorless or white, and it takes on the color of minerals or compounds mixed with it during formation. Lemon calcite comes from Pakistan and the yellow comes from iron. You can see in the first piece where a heavier deposit of iron created a copper colored pattern.

Crystal slabs make excellent decor and have the added bonus of bringing their metaphysical healing energies into the space. I love using pieces like this to create altars, to rest other crystals and mala beads, and as a gorgeous "ring dish" for special jewels.

These deals slabs are about the same thickness and both are self-standing, however #2 is a little more steady.
