Apophyllite is named after Greek "apo" - away and "phyllazein" - to get leaves. It can also be called "fisheye stone." Apophyllite is is commonly found within cavities in vocanic rocks or in ore veins and pegmatites. The largest source of apophyllite is Poona, India, which is known for it's clear and green varities of apophyllite; though the green variety (fluorapophyllite) is much less common than its clear counterpart. Apophyllite can also be white, grey, or pink.
