Antique Composite Doll marked F.P.28 deals made by Frank Popper c 1940

Antique Composite Doll

with sleeping blue glass eyes

voice box not working

toddler / child size doll

c 1940

The doll is wearing a dress & tights but could easily be any gender & dressed in any child's outfit

I bought this doll at auction attributed:
"probably by Fritz Pfeiffer of Gebrüder Pfeiffer Austria & Thuringia"

However I have been reliably informed this is actually by Frank Popper & there is an example in the V & A Museum in London

[by the way Gebrüder [Brothers] Pfeiffer; Emil, Max Pfeiffer & Fritz used materials for play figures consisting of a composition made from sand, milling waste and chestnut flour discarded from bakery machines]
