Vintage handmade fabric stenciled, strip patchwork, machine quilted apple wallhanging ~
One row of whole apples with green stems, 2nd row of apples with a bite taken, 3rd row of an apples sliced in half with seeds and bottom row with the words "An (stenciled apple) A Day..." I hand cut each stencil and the stenciling is done with acrylic fabric paint on natural cotton muslin fabric. The rows of fabric stenciling are separated with coordinating and contrasting tiny homespun red and white check and a country red floral print with blue, gold and white flowers and leaves, which is all bordered in a slate country blue pin dot and a 2nd border in the country red floral print and finished off with a narrow handmade country blue pin dot binding.
Backing is a natural cotton muslin fabric.
Wall hanging comes with a fabric sleeve on the back. (see photos #5). You can purchase a wood dowel to slide through the sleeve to hang it if you wish.
Perfect for the shabby, cottage, chic country farmhouse decor or apple lover decor.
In the 1980's I taught fabric and wood stenciling classes and made several samples for my classes and this is one of the fabric wall hangings that I completed deals into a finished project. Original one-of-a-kind wall hanging.
Condition: Vintage from the 1980's. I made several stenciled quilted wall hangings and now have one that I can part with. Very nice vintage condition. I think you will enjoy owning this piece, as much as I did creating it. May need an iron touch up upon arrival. You don't want to miss out on this one!
