Originally commissioned as "SSBN-728" ballistic missile submarine, the USS Florida was redesignated as an "SSGN" Tomahawk cruise missile submarine in 2006. In 2011 she participated in Operation Odyssey Dawn, to enforce a no-fly-zone over Libya so as to prevent then-leader Muammar Gaddafi from marshaling his air force to attack rebels in his country.

A wonderful addition to your den or library.

Adam Koltz is a marine artist and 20 year Navy veteran deals aboard several classes of ships, including merchant vessels.
