Antique Majolica Dog Large Plate/Platter/Hand Painted/Dog With Doghouse/Decorative Majolica Plate/Green Leaf Decoration/Victorian

This is a much sought after Majolica Plate or Platter depicting a dog in a dog house with scalloped edges in brown and trimmed with decorative green vines and leaves. It is a wonderful piece of Majolica and is prized by collectors of both Majolica and Dogs. This plate is considered to be produced during the late 19th century. The back is speckled as seen in the photos. The condition is good with two chips on the back but as you can see in photo #6 they do show a little on the front edge. There are a couple of tiny wear marks on one handle. On the front there are 2 tiny bubble burst. This was done during production. Very minor, but I like to describe the plate in detail so you know what you are getting. Because of its damage, I have priced it according, competitor's pricing on line reaches into the many hundreds. There is normal wear for its age. Just image the previous owners serving her favorite cakes and deserts from this plate/platter to her visiting guests or during the holidays. This is a charming piece of the 19th century when owners took pride in their possessions. It would be great to not only use but to display on your homes shelves deals, fireplace or in your kitchen cupboards.
