Antique victorian era sleigh blanket made from mohair, horsehair.
Late 1800s. Has a vibrant and colorful pattern in shades of red, orange,
and soft yellow/green. Very unusual. The backside is black. This one
does not have its' label although most likely made by Stroock or Chase.
The craftsmanship is exceptional as well as the weight of the piece and
super warm!! Amazing to have survived so many years! Unique pattern
and colors.
Measures; 64" x 50", weighing over 7 Lbs wow!
In good condition when you consider its' age and use. There are some
old nibbles (wear holes) around the corners and a few areas deals the blanket
has worn thin. Some discoloring from natural use however, fairly clean on the whole. A beautiful heirloom piece that has been well cared for through the generations and is still very usable.
