You can take one look at the faded velvet front cover, and then the back cover of this album, to see it's age. The vibrant color and floral print on the back will astound you, and you can imagine this album, holding a place of honor in the sunlight from a parlour window, for decades.

The photos are all from one family deals, in Chicago, of German descent. They are a wonderful snapshot of the Victorian era.

The album is rich and ornate, though it shows the wear of age. Some of the metal scroll work is broken, see the lower right hand corner on the front cover. The mirror is a little hazy. And the clasp no longer reaches the front page, perhaps because of added pages over the year. The 20 burgundy thick board pages, gilded around the outer edges, are approximately 3/4 full.

The album has no water damage, or odor.
