Here's my new line of penannular pins made as an homage to the Outlander TV series kilt pins. Those shown here are variant prototypes made with different weights (gauges) of sterling silver wire.
The first and third pictures show the largest version, made of heavy 8 gauge wire, about the same size worn by Jamie (and twisted like his)! The straight pin measures almost 4 1/2 Inches and the longest part of the circular/horseshoe shape is about 3 3/4 inches. I antiqued with a chemical patina to make it look more medieval.
The fourth and fifth photographs show a somewhat smaller version, but still with the 8 gauge wire so it looks more chunky. The tongue or pin here measures about 2 3/4 inches and horseshoe/oval 2 1/2 inches. This one I did patinate just to show a version that is bright and shiny. Notice the tighter and shorter twist on top.
The lighter 10 gauge wire version is just about the same dimensions as the one above. You see it in the 6th photo. This one is antiqued and shows an optional twisted tongue.
The smallest version shown here in picture 7 is antiqued and made of 12 gauge square wire and it's pin is about 2 1/2 inches and the oval just over 2 inches. but I can make a smaller one -- just about as small as you like. I've deals made doll-sized penannulars.
These are prototypes, but I can make one to your specifications. I do use only hand tool and the 8 gauge wire is about all my hands can handle and that looks best to me in about a 4" circle. But all other features, antiquing, twisted tongue, twisted all around, etc, just convo me or leave your requests in the notes to seller box when you purchase.
