Product code: Thermoplastic Union Case for Daguerreotypes, deals c. 1850s
Rare octagonal shaped thermoplastic daguerreotype / ambrotype "union" case! Fascinating piece of Southern American history! Includes a picture of a girl named Lucy Ann Elizabeth Haughton at 14-16 years old, from Midway, Gadsden Co, FL, about 1862, apparently born in September of 1848. I would love deals to see if there's anyone who knows who this young lady is, as we bought it at a flea market type of place in Bay Co, FL ages ago with no background ¯_(ツ)_/¯ All pieces of the frame are intact, hinges & closure are intact & functional, but glass is chipped & it looks like it was exposed to heat at some point in the last 170+ years, as seen in pics.
