Carriels, an iconic type of Columbian satchel, were traditionally worn by men in the coffee fields to carry all their necessities while leaving the hands free to work. They are made of fine quality leather and cowhide; the leather is dyed a deep rich garnet red, inky black, or a toasty warm russet. Flap through the loop type closure. The inside boasts many separate pockets. The front section has two open pockets and one loosely flap closed pocket. Behind that section are three more large open pocket as well as a large zip closure pocket. The chamois colored bottom expands like an accordion. This carriel measures approximately H8-5/8" x W9-3/8" with a sturdy top stitched adjustable shoulder strap measuring 46"-50.5". Amazing overall vintage condition. Theres a small area of slight scuffing consistent with age/use that would probably disappear with a good cleaning/oiling. Otherwise there are no significant flaws I could find upon close inspection.
