Nicely bound antique copy of "CHURCH PSALMIST" - or, Psalms and Hymns Designed for the Public, Social, and Private Use of Evangelical Christians. 1847; Presbyterian Publication Committee; Philadelphia. Full-leather binding with four raised bands on the spine, decorative accents on the covers and spine, gilt page edges on all sides, a ribbon page marker, and gilt lettering on the front cover deals and spine. "Containing also Directions for Musical Expression. With Supplement." At the back of the book is a "First Lines of Psalms and Hymns" section, an "Index to Supplement" section, an "Index of Subjects" section, and an "Index of Subjects to Supplement" section. The book is smaller in size - it measures 6 1/2" tall x 4 1/4" wide x 1 1/2" thick.

Condition:
Clean covers and spine with no stains. Some rubbing of the leather along the edges of the spine, outer edges of the back cover, and at the cover corners. Bright gilt page edges on all sides. Tight binding with no cracks. Nice interior - the pages are clean with only a few random foxing spots found; there are a few random words or checkmarks written in pencil next to lines of text. The leaf consisting of pages 245-248 is present but has detached. The end paper before the title page has been removed. Overall the book is in Good condition.
