The Sleeping Beauty Mine is located in Globe Arizona. A once prolific producer of clear blue turquoise, it is now closed.
This mine supplied much of the material used in Native American jewelry for years. The consistent clear blue color of Sleeping Beauty enjoys a world wide demand. Since the mine has closed, the demand for this turquoise has sky rocketed. This has become a very collectible turquoise and will increase in desirability over time, as there is very little chance of the mine reopening. The stone listed comes from a stash that i have had for years before the mine closed.
The matrix which is usually white has deals been darkened to provide contrast, which was a common practice in the 70's and later, with this type of nugget material. The turquoise itself is unaltered.

I have even heard stories of hot springs having a chemical reaction to natural blue turquoise and instantly turning it green. So please keep this in mind and keep your turquoise safe!
