Torsyk - a Vessel Made of Skin for Storing Kumys Drink from Horse`s Milk.

Torsyks were traditionally used by Kazakhs from Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan

The item is in Excellent Condition. Any markings on the leather are from the craftsman's tools and work.

Torsyk is a piece of Kazakh national tableware crafted from genuine leather. For manufacturing torsyk, the travel variant of the container used for kumys, shubat, or simply water, the artisans use the best kinds of genuine leather.

An openwork national ornament upon the surface of torsyk is made by pressing leather blanks between two wooden plates with the carved ornament. The convexity of the container is achieved by filling it with wet sand. This souvenir is a perfect present, symbolizing welfare and prosperity in the home of its owner.

This torsyk is decorative art, it is not a functional container. The leather on the bottom is not stitched to be flush.
