A large and heavy statue made of remnants of iron that he collects and creates art from it.

The artist: PIERRE-PAUL KETERS
Pierre-Paul KETERS (°1932) lives in Veurne, Belgium.
He was a teacher of welding techniques at the Vrij Technisch
Institute in Veurne.
He started sculpting in the sixties of the last century.
In the studio in the VTI he saw whimsical shapes of unusable pieces of metal in the
corner.
He saw more than old and worthless iron, as an artist he saw forms.
His mind, his imagination, his creativity was suddenly stirred up.
The final design of his works are often realistic, but often also very
decorative.
Humour and symbolism play a major role in his works.
He designed the fishing boat (ode to the fishermen – urban fish market in Nieuwpoort)
Among other things, he made a penitentiary (which is offered here in the auction) and a large spider web that was attached to his house.

"Helping hands".
