Checker Taxi is an American Taxi company owned by Morris Markin. In 1950, the Yellow Taxi Company was deals reformed after taking control of the Ampol Oil Company and they built a garage with eight yellow tartan taxis in the town. Taxi phones were installed in the ranks because the company did not have two-way radios until the mid-1950s. On June 18, 1923, the first Checker Cab rolled off the production line at The Checker Cab Manufacturing Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Checker entered the passenger car market in the late 1950s with models known as the Superba and Marathon. During the peak production year of 1962, the Checker rolled out some 8,173 cars. The vast majority of them are taxis. The tiny tartan taxi is painted yellow but looks in need of a wash as it has an old vintage look. The yellow taxi looks a bit shabby, which makes it very real. The rear bumper looked like it had been hit, and the front passenger side trim was loose as if it had been hit. The wheels of this taxi are stat.
