It has a good sized bowl, with a smooth briar bowl top. This pipe is graded a "1 C". There are some external dark marks on the shank... perhaps from being in too close to a flame or burning cigar, but only cosmetic; plus there is typical darkening at the inner bowl. This pipe as wide Vulcanite saddle REPLACEMENT stem that free of any tooth marks (price is reflective). This is a good solid Italian workhorse that has been cleaned, refreshed, sanitized, and is ready to enjoy.
