deals This is handmade small wooden chess set from the 1960's-1970's, made in Eastern Europe/Bulgaria. The set consists of 32 wooden chessmen and folding chess board. Chessmen are made of solid beech wood and crafted with very good detail in a traditional pattern influenced by the Soviet Chess sets. One side is in natural color and finished with varnish, other side is painted black. The varnish has developed rich golden color with the age. Set comes with its original wooden pyrography decorated folding chess board / storage box. It's made of solid wood and coated with varnish. Squares and ornaments on the sides are pyrographed by hand (poker work technique).

Condition:
Condition of the pieces is very good. No chips and cracks. Varnish is preserved very well, black paint is worn at the edges of the black pieces. Box/folding board is in good and fully functional condition. Nice golden color. Coating is in very good shape, few minimal age related marks and signs.
