"Capillary Action" - 10"×13" - Minimalist style abstract painting with branching lines and bold colour separation. The painting was created around 2009 or 2010. It is small and as many other paintings of mine it has no right side up. Changing up its orientation every few weeks makes the painting have a whole new feel and can change a room. This was painted around 2009. It is one of few that has survived theft, eviction, and destruction.
I was in State College, PA where I just began attending Penn State. Art was one thing that could stay constant when other things in my world were rapidly changing. My anxiety was high. I missed days of school because I couldn't open the door. It was paralyzing.
I do not think another painting survived from this era of my creativity. When I got my first apartment with my current boyfriend, he let me express myself wildly and freely. I hung up everything that had been just on my floor before. I also was creating at a high volume and rapid rate. I didn't know Bill's weren't being paid. One day we were kicked out on the street and I was separated from the closest things that I have to children. Another was an 1888 photograph of the human nervous system dissected in what is now Drexel University. It hung in my grandfathers doctor's office and it was something I enjoyed looking at daily. deals
