FABULOUS Vintage JAPANESE KOKESHI DOLL!!! Rare Design!!

We LOVE this vintage kokeshi doll! Her eyes are rendered beautifully with just a couple of masterful brushstrokes! Her nose and mouth are so delicate, and we adore the tapered elegance of her neck. But the doll's torso is exceptional too; the artist has painted gorgeous white flowers against a rustic brown background. The balance between the size of the head and body is perfect is perfect too!

The base of the doll is marked with the Japanese character that is usually read "Izumi," so this doll was likely made by Izumi Ueda, who we believe was most active in the 1970s.
