This mabe pearl has a beautiful multichrome hue, with a rainbow of iridescence in different lights. Set in a vibrant 10k . Mabe pearls are cultured blister pearls, growing against the inside of a shell, rather than inside the body of the mollusk. Pearl is exactly 1/2 inch across, which makes it about 12 1/2 to 13 mm. Ring is a US size 6. As shown in a photo, it is marked both “10k”, and “6” . It also has a makers mark but I cannot determine what it is. It was my mothers and not long after I discovered it, the pearl fell out since it was quite old. I just had it reset at my downtown jewelers, and should hold deals for a long time to come. Pearls are thought to be symbols of wisdom, offering protection and attracting good luck and wealth. They are the June birthstone, making the perfect birthday gift! Mid-century vintage.
