Vintage deals ceramic statue, bust by Salvatore Melani for Arnova, 1930s terra cotta colour vintage plaster statue

A plaster or chalkware bust of a young child-not sure whether this is a boy or a girl- with short curly hair and a very attractive beautiful face. The terracotta color deals bust sits on a square socle with a chipped-stone finish. A lovely and decorative piece, dating from the early 1930's , late Art Deco period. Signed S. Melani, Arnova, and model number 514.

Dimensions: Height 29 cm - 11.5", widest point 14 cm - 5.5"
Condition: Excellent. The statue was heavily chipped as often is the case with chalkware but has been restored. Touched up spots are still visible from close up but are no longer distracting. A protective felt pad has been added on the bottom. (Please Note the white areas in the picture are caused by the shiny surface, they are not missing paint!).
